A new upgrade to FarmVille Pig Pens is now live! Note, this feature is slowly rolling out to all farmers. Farmers can now enjoy unlocking new patters by leveling up (more on this later). After clicking on your farm’s Pig Pen you will be greeted with a new Pig Pen menu. The menu goes through the simple steps of Pig Breeding which is as follows:

1. Place Pigs in your Pig Pen.
2. Choose 1 Boar and 1 Sow for breeding.
3. Raise your Piglet into an adult Pig.
4. NEW! Level up to unlock new patterns.

Leveling Up & Unlocking New Patterns

The new leveling up feature will allow you unlock new Pig Patterns as well as some other cool stuff like Love Potions. How does one level up? Simple! Each time you successfully breed a Piglet, you will earn Pig Breeding points. Additionally, you will be rewarded with Bonus Points when a friend adopts your Piglet (everyone can participate in bonus points from adoption right now). As you level up your Pig Breeder status, you will be able to unlock new Pig patterns! Another new change is that you will be able to trade-in existing and unwanted pigs for Love Potion.

As a recap, we already know that our Piglets will inherit certain features from it’s parents such as the following:

Pattern: Your adult Piglet will have a chance to inherit their Father’s (Boar) pattern.
Color: Your adult Piglet can have the color based on it’s mother or father.
